GRADES 7–10 · A FORMAL SUBJECT · BEGINNING SY 2027–2028
The LIFE Program
Leadership · Integrity · Faith · Excellence
A science high school adds extra hours of science. Eastbridge adds hours of character — taught on purpose, on the schedule, with its own teacher.
Growing Up Has Never Been Louder
Today's teenagers carry a world in their pocket. Comparison, criticism, and pressure follow them home from school and glow on the screen at midnight. Many young people learn to perform confidence long before they possess it — and to give up quietly when things get hard.
Parents see it at the dinner table. Teachers see it in the classroom. And the ages when it matters most are twelve to sixteen — exactly the junior high years, when a young person's character consolidates into the adult they will become.
Every school promises character formation. We decided to put it on the class schedule.
What the LIFE Program Is
Beginning School Year 2027–2028, LIFE will be a formal subject in character and resilience for Grades 7 to 10 — with its own weekly class hours, its own curriculum, and its own teacher. Not a values segment tucked inside another subject, and not an occasional seminar. It will sit on your teenager's timetable beside Mathematics and Science, because we believe it deserves the same intentionality.
One teacher, four years. The same LIFE teacher will walk with your child from Grade 7 to Grade 10 — watching them grow, knowing their story, and calibrating each lesson to who they are becoming. That continuity is by design.
The founders teach in it. At fixed points in every unit, Pastor Gerry and Teacher Jane — the school's founders — step in as guest teachers, bringing decades of pastoral and educational experience directly into the classroom.
Your child's character is never graded. LIFE has assessments — but they measure understanding, reflection, and application, never the worth of your child's heart. We assess their learning — never their soul.
The Four-Year Journey
Each year of LIFE has one theme, matched to where a teenager actually is at that age.
Grade 7 — Rooted · Faith
Identity that doesn't depend on likes. A Grade 7 student anchors who they are in what God says about them — before the world offers its own noisy answers.
Grade 8 — Tested · Integrity
Character when nobody is watching — online and off. Grade 8 confronts honesty, peer pressure, and the difference between reputation and integrity.
Grade 9 — Strengthened · Excellence
Resilience as a habit. Trying again after failure, receiving criticism without crumbling, and pursuing excellence for the right reasons.
Grade 10 — Sent · Leadership
Leading, not following. Grade 10 students prepare to carry their values across the bridge — ready to stand firm in a new school, a bigger campus, and eventually the adult world.
What This Means for Your Family
When character has its own subject, it stops being an accident. Your teenager will be intentionally taught how to handle comparison, criticism, failure, and pressure — the very things that quietly wear down so many young people today.
When you visit other schools — and you should — ask one question: "Where is character formation on the class schedule?" At Eastbridge, starting SY 2027–2028, we can point to it.
