Last Saturday, November 16, 2019, five provinces were represented by five schools to compete for the Regional Mathematics Championship title. Eastbridge, having won the Municipal and Provincial championships represented the province of Rizal. It's Eastbridge, fourth attempt to win the gold. Under the coaching of Teacher Rolyn Perez, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Mathematics from Western Visayas State University, Eastbridge Math Team started competing at this high level three years ago. The first attempt resulted to a bronze. The following year, the team did better and went home with the silver, conceding the title to Batangas. The feat was repeated again the following year with another silver, this time the gold went to Laguna. In its fourth attempt, Eastbridge could no longer be denied and the elusive gold was finally bagged by the team with an almost perfect score of 28/30, missing only one two-point average question. Second place went to Laguna which scored 21/30 and third place went to Batangas.
Eastbridge Team is composed of Jayden Pondoc-Grade 6, Dylan Valerio-Grade 5 and Cedric Sigua-Grade 4. The competition was held at Dominique Hotel in Tagaytay and were participated in by the five provinces which make up the CALABARZON IVA Region, namely, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
The school would like to thank the all-out support of the students, faculty and parents who helped in praying for this victory and particularly Lenny Pondoc and Charina Sigua who actually accompanied the team to take care of the kids' other needs and to lend moral support.
Finally, Eatbridge would like to praise the Lord for His wonderful favor.
